Donate to WDC in our 30th year
WDC is 30 years-old and together with staff, volunteers, partners and you, our supporters, we have achieved many successes over those years. But the very fact that WDC is needed more today than we have ever been should cause us to reflect.
As we look forward to the future, we acknowledge that some things may well get worse before they get better. During the last decades we’ve seen the effective extinction of the baiji. Now, vaquitas and Maui dolphins are struggling to survive the threat of accidental capture in fishing nets. The world is finally waking-up to the problem of plastics in our oceans, the whaling industry is not finished yet, and whilst the captive display of whales and dolphins is being rolled back in the Americas and Europe, more facilities are springing up, especially in Asia.
With your support and with the action of the world’s governments, whales and dolphins will not be hunted or held in captivity and very few will die in fishing nets. There will be robust legislation protecting their rights, and a network of protected areas ensuring they can thrive in clean, healthy seas.
The next 30 years will certainly not be easy, but we can see a brighter future. We’re making progress, and you are at the heart of it.
Please make a donation today and together we will make our vision a reality
