WDC announces new ambassador
WDC is delighted to announce that long-term supporter, James Schall, VP of Digital Business at SEGA Europe, has been appointed as a WDC ambassador with a focus on helping to support WDC’s ongoing work with the video games industry.
James said: “I’m so proud to join WDC as an ambassador. The work they do for the survival and future health of whales and dolphins across the world is incredible and I’m honoured to be part of the team. I’ve supported the charity since childhood and I look forward to offering advice and guidance on many of their video game and other related projects”.
Since 2014, James has worked closely with WDC to help develop links with the video games industry, which have helped to raise vital funds and awareness of our work amongst the estimated 1.8 billion people worldwide who regularly play games on mobile, console or PC. James was also instrumental in helping WDC secure the Humble Bundle promotions with SEGA and Relic Entertainment that have raised over $170k since 2014 to help protect orca populations around the world.
WDC chief executive, Chris Butler-Stroud, said: “We are thrilled to be able to formally recognise the amazing contribution that James has made to WDC’s work over the last three years by making him a WDC ambassador. As well as bringing a wealth of expertise in the video games industry to the role, James is also incredibly passionate about the protection of orcas, and has supported us for many years. He is a fantastic example of how WDC supporters can use their professional skills, experience and connections to help make a real difference to our work and we look forward to continuing to work with him closely on some of the exciting project we have planned, including our Gamers for Orcas event on June 9th and 10th”.
