WDC raises a glass to its Shorewatch volunteers

To thank them for another year of their fantastic dedication and support, volunteers from WDC’s Shorewatch team were treated to special beer tasting session at the Scottish Dolphin Centre last week courtesy of WDC partner, Speyside Craft Brewery.

Staff and volunteers were joined by brewery founder and CEO, Seb Jones, who gave a talk on the different beers and ales produced at the craft brewery on the Moray Firth, including their famous Bottlenose Bitter. Alison Rose, the Centre’s manager said afterwards: “WDC staff and volunteers really enjoyed tasting Speyside Craft Brewery’s beer and hearing more about the creation of Bottlenose Bitter from Seb. He is a great supporter not only of WDC and our work to protect the local bottlenose dolphins, but also of promoting the local Moray area as a great place to visit. It was a fantastic way to thank our volunteers for their hard work throughout the year.”

WDC have worked in partnership with Speyside Craft Brewery since 2012, with a 5p donation being made to WDC for every litre of Bottlenose Bitter sold. At the tasting, Seb also took the opportunity to present the Scottish Dolphin Centre staff with a cheque for over £1,000 from sales to date, which will be used to support WDC’s work to keep whales and dolphins safe and free, both in Scotland and across the world.
