Japanese whaling fleet may set sail on Tuesday

Following its decision to restart ‘research’ whaling in the Antarctic, Japanese officials have announced that a fleet of whale hunting ships will set sail as early as Tuesday.

This provocative move has been taken despite a ruling by the International Court of Justice (IJC) calling for the hunts to end on the basis that they were basically commercial whaling dressed up as research, and that they had little scientific merit.
