WDC signs agreement to help protect whales and dolphins in the Pacific Islands

WDC has signed an agreement with officials in the Pacific Islands region that will encourage more research and strengthen whale and dolphin conservation in the area.

The formal agreement between WDC and the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) was will see continuing cooperation on research projects, and closer ties with university students to develop existing and new projects including the development of protection of whale and dolphin habitats in the Pacific Island territories.

The agreement was signed during the 9th Pacific Islands Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas in Suva, Fiji.
