Supporter becomes first Briton to swim dangerous stretch of ocean for WDC

Adam Walker has completed his latest marathon swim to raise money for WDC, and becomes the first Briton to swim a stretch of ocean that has claimed the lives of thousands of people.

Adam, from Nottingham, swam across the Tsugaru Strait – a stretch of water that separates the two main islands of Japan. The tidal system is so complex that Adam frequently went backwards for periods of time during the 18 mile crossing. There are sharks, whales, sea snakes and jelly fish in the sea and only 16 swimmers in the world have crossed this strait.

He has now finished five amazing and terrifying long swims for WDC, including the English Channel; and has only two more swims to go to become only the fourth person to complete seven specific straits around the world at the first attempt.

WDC is once again amazed by Adam’s feats and you can show your appreciation by donating at: Just Giving
