Plastic carrier bag charge could help whales and dolphins

An announcement by the Scottish government that it is introducing a 5p charge on carrier bags has been welcomed by WDC.

The charges, which will begin in October 2014, have been set up to reduce harmful litter on beaches and in the sea.

Whales and dolphins can die after swallowing or becoming entangled in plastic bags and packaging.
