WDC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Lui Bell, Marine Species Advisor with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme.

Lui was always an incredibly strong advocate for the Pacific Islands Region marine environment – and countless positive and inspiring conservation victories and gains are due to his dedication. Lui’s enduring efforts and passion helped make oceans a safer place for marine species while his humility, patience and great sense of humour will be dearly missed.

We have lost an amazing Pacific conservation champion.

Our prayers and thoughts go to his family and friends at this very difficult time.
